H.263 is a member of the H.26x family of video coding standards designed by ITU (International Telecom Union). It was developed in 1995 as an improvement over H.261, the previous ITU codec. In June 2007 Cowon announced the iAudio 7, based on the iAudio 6 but with 4GB/8GB/16GB of flash memory instead of a hard drive. iAudio 7 plays MP3, WMA, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, WAV, and ASF for audio files as well as Xvid for video media. The OLED screen from the iAudio 6 model was replaced by a TFT with 260,000 colors (18 bit colour depth). The device uses a swing-control. Audio recordings can only be saved in WMA format, with a user selectable bitrate of 64, 80, 96, or 128.
